1) Set the strategy for the UK Product Deal Programme
• Lead a cross-functional team to propose and evolve the structure of the programme e.g. category mix, frequency of deals, targeted vs untargeted marketing channels
• Put in place the right set of operational activities to achieve the goals of the programme (perception impacts, sales volumes)
• Work with the leads of the other global deal programmes in US and Germany to design the appropriate platform and tools to enable successful programme delivery in lowest resource way
• Take and champion the outside-in perspective in setting the strategy for the programme: understand the online landscape for similar deal programmes and define eBay’s competitive positioning in relation to it
2) Deliver programme(s) of high quality product deals
• Work with direct and extended team, customer support seller account managers and directly with large sellers to identify appropriate products for inclusion in the programme
• Negotiate deal terms with sellers for these items, including agreeing item prices and commercial terms
• Manage end to end processes with sellers and marketing team to deliver deals to the site in a seamless and efficient way
• Work with extended team to analyse impact of individual deals/overall programme to maximize perception and sales impact
• Work collaboratively with seller business development team to propose priority sellers / categories for acquisition of new sellers to best serve product deal programme
The candidate
• Proven experience managing operational delivery of substantial programme or business area, ideally with heavy B2C marketing / consumer products focus
• Previous experience managing direct report(s) and extended cross-functional teams of peers
• A working understanding of one or more of the consumer electronics, home or fashion verticals
• Retail/merchandising expertise, ideally through work as a buyer or merchandiser in a large retail organization, or through direct exposure to these disciplines through other roles
• Experience representing your company to third parties / partners / clients, and in negotiating commercial partnerships / terms
• A passion for eBay and its community
