Online Marketing Manager, UK at MySpace

Job Description 

This role is responsible for managing online audience development activity for Myspace UK, working within the Audience Development and Marketing function. The remit covers traffic acquisition, conversion of visitors to members, eCRM programme, online community marketing, and online product marketing. The users of MySpace are passionate about the opportunities to engage with entertainment and content in a manner that no other media platform allows. The Audience Development and Marketing team are responsible for identifying target audience segments, growing user numbers and increasing the engagement (page views and time spent online) of Myspace users. 

The successful candidate will have proven experience in marketing online products and services, with specific experience in digital marketing techniques. Offline marketing experience is also preferable. 

Responsibilities Include: 

Management 
• Manage the performance of online marketing activities for Myspace UK working within the Audience Development team. 
• Supporting the Content & Marketing Directors on implementation of online promotional activity as part of the UK marketing plan. 
• Deliver online marketing best practices and help instill online marketing experience throughout the content and marketing teams. 
• Support the Content & Marketing Directors in executing MySpace's International marketing strategy in the UK. 
• Ensure that ROI is maximised for all online marketing activity in the UK. 

Online Marketing 
• Manage SEM/ SEO activity in the UK, helping to train the content and marketing teams on best practice and supporting their promotional plans. 
• Manage the use of external online display media, including managing external media agencies and maximising ROI. 
• Manage and help implement barter deals and content partnerships to increase online and offline promotional opportunities for Myspace UK. 
• Leverage community marketing and online PR techniques to promote MySpace content to key audiences. 
• Help establish and manage an eCRM programme, including email marketing programmes and use of on-network marketing inventory. 
• Support the Content & Marketing Directors in establishing an online marketing strategy in the UK, integrated with the overall international marketing plan, and ensure local teams have appropriate tools to implement. 
• Work closely with International product teams to implement online product marketing campaigns in the UK, working on all aspects of the product lifecycle (launch, welcome process, conversion, retention, etc). 
• Work closely with the Sales and Commercial teams on driving traffic to key monetisation areas. 
• Manage customer retention practices for region and develop long term customer value strategy. 
• Manage the briefing process for internal and external creative / design resource for online marketing campaigns. 
• Ensure appropriate and effective use of the online marketing budget, maximising ROI. 
• Work with creative and marketing teams to ensue online marketing, using a variety of reporting tools. 
• Input into web and product design/navigation to improve conversion and retention of site visitors. 
• Support on delivering offline marketing activity as part of the overall marketing plan where appropriate (e.g. events, press opportunities, field marketing).

Skills

• Highly numerate graduate with strong experience in an online environment, and digital marketing experience. 
• Direct and demonstrable experience in measuring online campaign performance and achieving a positive ROI. 
• Direct and demonstrable experience of managing budgets, relationships with creative and media agencies, email marketing campaigns and affiliate programmes. 
• Strong commercial awareness with particularly good influencing skills. 
• A proven track record of delivering a significant increase in traffic and sales. 
• Experience partnering with online sales team with sponsorship and business development activities preferable. 
• Pro-active and able to show initiative/ideas to constantly improve the company's offering. 
• Demonstrable experience in project management and delivering complex online and offline marketing programmes in defined timescales. 
• Ability to think clearly and calmly when faced with issues or problems. 
• Ability to cope well with the demands of a rapidly growing company. 
• Proven ability to work to stringent deadlines.
