Job DescriptionThe position reports to the Global IT and Facilities Director. The successful candidate will: • Provide technical support to internal desktop and server systems in Cluj and at some remote office sites as well and assist with the infrastructure of several European offices. Emphasis is on planning, coordinating and administering systems, including documentation, operational guidelines and protections, and maintenance of IT systems. • Have significant interaction with all FRS staff and ensures that FRS IS services are coordinated, timely and meet customer expectations. • Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, and servers in a heterogeneous environment • Maintain password security data systems, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment. • Provide desktop hardware & software installation, repair, and configuration services • Provide primary level Help Desk on-site plus contribute to global support operations. • Evaluate desktop software/hardware and define configuration standards. • Provide PC hardware & software consulting services • May recommend hardware and software solutions, including new acquisitions and upgrades. Skills Education Bachelor degree (or higher) or equivalent training or experience in desktop administration. Experience and knowledge Essential: IT: • Requires a minimum of 3 years of experience with PC hardware repair and configuration. • Experience with Windows XP/Vista • Windows Server 2003 and Active Directory domains • Strong understanding of TCP/IP protocol including WINS/DHCP/DNS • MS Exchange 2003 mail systems • MS SQL Server 2000/2005 • Remote access for mobile workers including VPN • Wide Area Networking and remote support across multiple countries • Switches, routers and LAN cabling • Telephone systems and voice mail • Fluency in English, written and oral. Desirable: • Fluency in other European languages (…).
