Job DescriptionImproving our R&D execution is a clear priority for the Carrier Product Group. Excellence in Research & Development capabilities, meaning our ability to develop the right products at the right cost with the right level of quality, is crucial for our success. The CTO function leads the R&D transformation efforts across the Carrier Product Group, including the adoption of common processes and platforms, required to further improve cost effectiveness, time to market and quality of the products across the portfolio. In order to achieve this mission, the CPG CTO organization is looking for the Head of R&D Strategy and Transformation. The role of the Head of R&D Strategy and Transformation is to ensure the definition and successful execution of sufficient programs in and across the PDs of CPG to achieve the target levels of efficiency and effectiveness Major Activities The position includes the following responsibilities Provide a detailed analysis of the key R&D programs and assess them according to key indicators of effectiveness and efficiency. Identify key practices contributing to strong performance. Support the teams in each of the key R&D programs to define and implement transformation programs achieve a target level of effectiveness and efficiency Define and ensure the successful roll-out of the key cross-PG processes Identification of the critical competencies for key R&D roles and review the staffing and development of the leaders of Key R&D programs accordingly. Work with HR to ensure the appropriate corporate and CPG programs are in place to support these efforts. ** The position is ideally located in Paris but we will also consider candidates from other European locations and from North America. ** Skills Education and Experience: ** Engineering degree ** 10+ years of experience in R&D leading positions preferably in software ** Has experience in managing both small and large R&D teams ** Has experience implementing process improvement initiatives ** Has a significant experience working in international environments Competencies: ** Good knowledge of the telecommunication technology and products. ** Self starter with demonstrated initiative, flexibility, and team spirit. ** Ability to interface and effectively influence at all levels of the organization. ** Strong relationship building skills. ** Excellent communication skills. ** Strong results orientation.
