The main objective of the role is to deliver consultancy, often pre-sale, to enable the client to successfully transact on the eBay platform. This includes advising on the client’s operational design for eBay and the implementation of eBay’s APIs. Success will reflect how swift and simple onboarding new clients becomes.
Key Activities
• Business & Requirements Analysis
To be able to explore client’s current situation, desired objectives and the constraints that will need to be considered in order to initiate, or improve, sales on eBay.
• Solution consultancy
Delivery of quality consultancy, including architecture review, functional and technical design, application implementation and configuration. You will be able to assist clients to design or re-engineer processes to improve the eBay buyer’s experience.
• Implementation management
Facilitate workshops to capture and interpret client requirements, perform product gap analysis and feature prioritisation. To include the creation and delivery of best practice materials and refinement of eBay processes. Produce detailed operational, functional and technical solution design documentation. Project management of the implementation and on-site client support throughout.
• Stakeholder engagement
Work very closely with the business development and account teams to ensure broad awareness of the client opportunities, issues and timelines. Strong interaction with the account management team in ensuring existing clients are maximising their opportunities and minimising inefficiencies. Regular involvement with product teams to represent client requirements and to suggest new product developments.
Desired Background
• 5+ years experience in a client-facing technical consultancy role
• Demonstrated examples of leading implementations and client-side projects
• Strong technical literacy and exposure. Comfort with APIs and XML is a pre-requisite.
• Practical experience or understanding of retail, especially in fashion, technology and consumer electronics is desirable.
• A degree in IT / Business related subject
